Footprints and layouts
So I placed out the buttons how I wanted them and saw right away that the buttons were way too big. So I found a smaller foot print, still too big so then I think I found the smallest one kicad has (Button_Switch_SMD:SW_SPST_B3U-1000P) and I realized I can rotate them too to make even more space, so I ended up with this. I'm going to put the diodes on the underside because there is NOT enough space on the top, also going to try and find smaller diodes??? If there are any, this whole hardware thing is new to me

Update PCB

I figured out how to and added the footprints for the diode and resistors and then put them on the pcb editor and spread out buttons so i could tell which was which.

Stupid diodes

Well...
I reread the guide and it turns out that earlier I was not really paying to much attention to the guide so I tied all the buttons to ground and didn't use diodes and connected it all wrong. So now, I stripped it down to just the buttons and the module and the resistors and redid it from there, I added diodes to each button and actually connected them all properly (I think...) so yeah it should be good now!!!
I don't think i have to tie the 3v3 and gnds together on the two modules

Made schematic, kinda
I researched how to make a keyboard matrix although now as im typing this im realizing that i think i missed something since i didnt put and diodes or anything???? idk man this is my first hardware project I'll look it up next time I work on this.
ANYWAY I made the matrix and hooked it up to two of the input modules because this is going to take up the two front modules. This was not too hard so far, mostly just a lot of copying and pasting and renaming.
I really like net tags/label/whatever they're called, it makes it so much neater to wire.
Welp I think that's it so far
