Creating the 3D case

I started by creating a fusion project and importing my PCB model into it. I have a really hard time modelling, but I looked at koeg's design and took inspo for the dimensions. I made holes for the switch and LEDs and also mounting holes that i could screw the PCB in.

So, now i will have 45 PCBs rather than 5 meaning that I can share 44 on #gadget-market! I placed the expansion card footprints in a 3x3 layout and placed mousebites in between all of them. I ran into an issue where the edge.cuts layer didnt connect since it has to be one continuous line, so i had to edit the expansion footprint and remove the edgecuts leaving only the corners, and connect everything via the mousebites on the pcb.

this let's me get 45 PCBs for the low price of 2$! thats 0.044$ per PCB!

So I decided to take something smaller that I could finish today. I will be making a module with a hot-swappable MX switch. But since I mustn’t copy the tutorial, I will also be adding 3 LEDs to the board.

I know that I will need to calculate resistor values for the LEDs that I pick. So I must first pick LEDs. I will go for 0402 because I have a hot plate and they're relatively easy to solder. All the SMD components wil be 0402. I'm using this LED resistance calculator to calculate the resistance i need. I will use 33 ohm because its not really clear and thats what Claude suggested. I found all the components i will need on aliexpress, like the resistors leds and switches.
